Hi, Iím Joanna, a writer for Design Shuffle, a cool online portfolio site for interior designers and those looking for gorgeous interior design ideas. I love my work, as I get to look at beautiful designs all day and share them with readers like you. A big thank you to The Joy of Decorating for allowing me to visit with you today to share some ways to create feature walls. Sometimes a bright color throughout a room can be too distracting. This is where the feature wall comes inó it provides just enough color to brighten a room without overwhelming it. Paint, wallpaper, and even shelves, are used to create interest and bring colorful hues to a space. Here are a few of our favorite interior designs with feature walls.
A brilliant fuchsia accent wall adds just the right amount of color to the traditional space. The burgundy and gold velvet set against pink looks lovely.
A modern accent wall features a fun clock. The design reminds us of tennis balls.
This teen girlís bedroom design boasts pink flocked wallpaper which creates a dramatic feature wall. The pink accents pick up the color throughout the rest of the room.
A chartreuse feature wall in this galley kitchen design adds a pop of color to an otherwise black and white space. The bright colors in the next room pick up the energy from the kitchen.
A big floral in green, blue and white sets the stage for a striking entry. The Asian-inspired accents pick up the floral in the wallpaper nicely.
Storage with colorful insets of differing yellow prints makes for an interesting feature wall in this eat-in kitchen. Are you inspired with any decorating ideas so far?
Here is another Asian-inspired print that covers the feature wall in this modern space. The use of swans on a yellow background add such a pop of color to the space.
Ok, we cheated on this one. It was so clever that even with its lack of color, we decided to include it. Who would think messy library shelves could add such personality to a space?
